Energy-Based Fault Detection and Isolation Framework for Flat Port-Hamiltonian Mechanical Systems

arXiv

arXiv:2610.33679v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Fault diagnosis during regulated motion requires informative signals even when feedback attenuates tracking deviations. This paper develops an energy-based diagnostic framework that constructs mechanical port-power residuals without a dedicated dynamic observer. Spectral Hamiltonian Algebraic Power Evaluation (SHAPE) combines port-Hamiltonian variables and differential flatness to generate nominal power references from planned motion for fully actuated mechanical systems with collocated actuation. Subtracting these references from commanded effort multiplied by measured flow yields residuals whose final evaluation requires neither recursive observer updates nor measured-state dynamics calculations. Continuous wavelet transform (CWT) scalograms and a shared-encoder convolutional neural network are used to distinguish nominal operation, actuator loss of effectiveness, anomalous friction, and vibration from complete trajectories. HARP: Handoff-Aware Recovery Planning for Active Target Acquisition in Multi-UAV Handoff

arXiv

arXiv:2610.33640v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Continuous aerial tracking often requires multiple drones to maintain target coverage over long periods. During handoff, the receiving UAV may lack prior target observations and must actively acquire a usable view without disrupting the sender's ongoing coverage. This work introduces HARP, a handoff-aware recovery planner that registers bounded sender predictions in the receiver's local map, distinguishes field-of-view failure from physical occlusion, and generates failure-specific yaw, translation, and parallax viewpoints. Candidate motions are checked for receiver clearance, sender-fiducial observability, protected sender--target visibility, temporal validity, and deadline compliance. When a complete trajectory cannot be admitted, HARP may execute a sampled admissible nonzero prefix and replan from updated evidence. In simulation, HARP acquired the target in all 49 standard trials and in 15 of 16 stress trials. Field trials validated HA

HA-DiPO: Diffusion Policy Optimization for Heterogeneous Cooperative Transport

arXiv

arXiv:2610.33584v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Cooperative transport with heterogeneous legged robots requires coordinating different motion capabilities while supporting an unfixed shared payload. We present HA-DiPO (Heterogeneous-Agent Diffusion Policy Optimization), a hierarchical multi-agent reinforcement learning framework under centralized training with decentralized execution (CTDE). The framework decouples team-level coordination from embodiment-specific motion control: at the high level, a centralized critic uses team-value estimates to jointly train independent coordination policies, aligning robot-specific action responses with a shared transport objective; at the low level, embodiment-specific robust motion policies track the coordination commands. The high-level diffusion policies offer more flexible action distributions than single-Gaussian parameterizations, allowing potentially multimodal coordination responses to be represented. The coordination policies learn from sc

Memory-Aware Keyframe Management for Dense Maps on Memory-Constrained Robots

arXiv

arXiv:2610.33574v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Running a language model and a dense 3D map on one device means the two share one memory, and exceeding its limit is an out-of-memory failure. Map systems that keep a bounded working set bound it by a count of keyframes, but the memory one keyframe occupies varies widely with what it carries, so a count does not control what the working set occupies. The unit of admission is as poorly matched, since a radius around the pose, a fixed cell, or the graph neighbors of the last matched keyframe all move parts of the map that are not needed. We therefore propose two decisions. First, the memory the resident map uses is bounded directly, and the cost of every admission is known before any data is read, from per-keyframe resident sizes computed offline and carried with the map. Second, keyframes are admitted and released at a semantic spatial unit, the rooms and corridors of the building, so that the robot holds the zone it occupies together with

WorldFailBench: Do World Models Understand Policy Failures?

arXiv

arXiv:2610.33565v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Robot policy evaluation informs deployment decisions and policy improvement, but physical testing and simulator preparation require substantial effort. World models offer a complementary route through closed-loop interaction in generated environments. Recent benchmarks have demonstrated their potential as policy evaluators through outcome-based evaluation (i.e., assessing task success or failure). However, such evaluation does not establish whether world models faithfully simulate how policies fail. Misrepresenting failures can lead to incorrect diagnoses of policy weaknesses and make policies appear ready for deployment even when small scene changes cause them to fail. We therefore ask: do world models faithfully simulate how and at which stages policies fail, and under what conditions they transition from success to failure? To answer this question, we introduce WorldFailBench with three evaluation tasks. Failure reason tests whether mo

MimicAll: Structured Embodiment Conditioning for Cross-Humanoid Whole-Body Motion Tracking

arXiv

arXiv:2610.33508v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Humanoid motion trackers reproduce diverse behaviors, but sharing a policy across bodies requires accounting for differences in structure, morphology and dynamics. We present MimicAll, a reinforcement-learning framework for shared whole-body motion tracking across heterogeneous humanoids. A structured embodiment descriptor is encoded into global and joint-aligned conditions, which are combined with observation history and body-matched motion references to predict joint-target offsets. Physics-consistent embodiment randomization, body-calibrated retargeting and heterogeneous simulation support training across 4,096 variants from 16 humanoid families. We introduce a benchmark of 464 bodies across five distribution strata to evaluate motion generalization, within-family embodiment shifts and unseen-family transfer. Controlled ablations show that embodiment information improves motion completion with simple concatenation, while self-attention

ReSight: Task-Driven Self-Improving Memory for Embodied Agents

arXiv

arXiv:2610.33487v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Robots can use historical observations to answer spatiotemporal queries in familiar environments, but the presence of relevant evidence does not imply that existing tools support the operations a task requires. We introduce ReSight, a task-driven self-improving memory system for embodied agents that expands the capabilities for processing and accessing historical observations as task demands arise. ReSight retains keyframes and their spatiotemporal associations, separating observation evidence from extensible derived fields so that stored observations can be reprocessed for new needs. An execution agent and a coding agent share this memory through different interfaces: the former calls registered tools within a bounded online budget, while the latter uses a programmable workspace and a larger exploration budget to inspect evidence, write programs, and acquire models as needed. To realize capability expansion in ReSight, we develop Explore

Learning Dexterous Manipulation: Hands, Simulators, Training, and Evaluation

arXiv

arXiv:2610.33486v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: A dexterous hand can change an object's pose without setting it down. This survey covers 113 learning-based methods that attempt it, the hands they run on, the simulators they train in, and how they report results. The field has largely converged on one recipe: reinforcement learning on privileged state in a GPU simulator, distilled into a vision-only student for transfer to hardware. Almost half the corpus trains that way, nearly all of it in one simulator, whose own successors are barely used. A second and faster-growing branch learns from teleoperated demonstration instead, through vision-language-action models, diffusion policies, and systems whose contribution is the collection rig itself. Published work has tripled since 2022. Grasping remains the largest task family and bimanual coordination the fastest-rising, and almost every experiment runs on one of four hands. What the survey adds comes from reading released code and vendor sp

MDPO: Multi-constraint Dexterous Policy Optimization with Reinforcement Learning

arXiv

arXiv:2610.33480v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Dexterous manipulation requires high-dimensional control policies to accomplish complex contact-rich tasks while simultaneously satisfying multiple safety requirements, such as joint limits, unsafe finger configurations, arm collisions, and unstable object interactions. Constrained reinforcement learning (RL) provides a principled framework for incorporating these requirements into dexterous manipulation policy learning. However, existing constrained RL methods for dexterous manipulation primarily focus on cumulative cost constraints and struggle to simultaneously handle multiple heterogeneous constraints during dexterous policy learning. In this work, we propose Multi-constraint Dexterous Policy Optimization (MDPO) for safe dexterous manipulation. We first formulate dexterous manipulation as a multi-constraint policy optimization problem involving both cumulative cost constraints and state-wise cost constraints. Based on this formulation

A Differentiable Chassis Safety Layer for Intelligent Vehicle Motion Control

arXiv

arXiv:2610.33476v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Learning-based vehicle motion control requires coordination between diverse task objectives and state-dependent chassis safety constraints. Conventional cascaded architectures may compromise task performance when safety filters modify nominal commands independently of policy learning. This article proposes a differentiable chassis safety layer that modularly integrates task-oriented control with explicit physical constraints. Actuator limits, individual-tire force constraints, and vehicle handling envelopes are incorporated into sequential quadratic programs. Each projected command propagates the predicted vehicle dynamics and updates subsequent constraints, enabling temporal gradient coupling through implicit differentiation. A two-stage learning strategy combines expert imitation with risk-guided supervision and conditional intervention guidance to coordinate nominal control decisions with chassis safety constraints. MOTIO: Agentic Skill Engineering for Reality-Grounded Humanoid Loco-Manipulation

arXiv

arXiv:2610.33446v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: We present MOTIO, an agentic skill-engineering system that turns ordinary human-action videos, reality-grounded 3D assets, motion references, and reusable robot skills into executable humanoid loco-manipulation programs. Through in-context task and contact reasoning, an agent constructs staged robot-native interactions and improves them using physics execution, multi-frame feedback, and human validation---without task-specific teleoperation or robot demonstration collection. Agentic 3D supplies metric product and environment assets, while existing whole-body, inverse-kinematics, and dexterous-hand interfaces realize the programs. Across 33 timestamped first approvals, the median recorded agent-turn time is 97.0 minutes and request-to-approval duration is 2.80 hours. Simulation-side layout and object variation prepare a long-horizon bottle-disposal skill for a continuous 101.75-second physical G1 execution in a scanned office; physical ref

Active Reachability Learning for Humanoid Recoverability Monitoring

arXiv

arXiv:2610.33317v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Deploying humanoid task policies requires reliable runtime monitors that anticipate unrecoverable falls in time to trigger a fallback. We formulate this task as learning the stochastic, finite-horizon recoverability envelope of a given fallback policy. Synthesizing this monitor is challenging: existing methods assume training data naturally covers the recoverability envelope, yet acquiring such data remains a major bottleneck for contact-rich systems. Consequently, they recover only a fraction of the true envelope, leaving them prone to optimistic hallucinations for out-of-distribution (OOD) inputs. We resolve this via a unified framework that iterates between value learning and active exploration. Data exploration is reframed as a reach-avoid problem, where an uncertainty-guided explorer systematically uncovers unseen states while avoiding confidently unrecoverable regions. This loop is further supported by a combined Temporal Difference

Tiny Recursive Policy: Recursive Latent Refinement for Visuomotor Control

arXiv

arXiv:2610.33288v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Behaviour cloning has become a powerful approach for robotic manipulation, but many modern policies reconstruct their internal representation from a fixed observation window at each prediction and do not maintain persistent latent context throughout execution. We introduce Tiny Recursive Policy (TRP), a parameter-efficient behaviour-cloning policy that combines persistent temporal state with recursive latent refinement. At each control step, TRP repeatedly updates high- and low-level latent states using a shared computation module before decoding an action sequence, and propagates the resulting state to subsequent predictions. We evaluate TRP across LIBERO-100, MetaWorld ML45, and the LIBERO-Mem benchmarks. TRP performs competitively across multi-task and few-shot settings and shows substantial gains on long-horizon and context-dependent tasks, while using significantly fewer parameters than large generative baselines. ORBIT: A Modular Multi-finger Robotic Hand Platform with Rotational Finger Reconfiguration

arXiv

arXiv:2610.33241v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Despite the popularity of multi-fingered robotic hands for dexterous manipulation, there is no systematic platform to compare different hand morphologies against one another. We present ORBIT (Orbital Reconfigurable Base-actuated Integrated Theta-motion Hand), a modular platform designed to enable principled exploration of multi-fingered hand morphology. The core contribution of ORBIT is a rotating knuckle mechanism, where independent fingers travel around a cylindrical palm via a belt drive. This enables ORBIT to perform quick recon- figuration (< 1 s) of finger layout without hand disassembly. ORBITs a robust system, with finger average angular velocity of 1.57 rad / s1 and a root finger force resistance of 50 N. Using a three fingers instantiation of ORBIT, we demonstrate an initial pilot grasping study, comparing anthropomorphic, isometric, and Barrett-style finger layouts across eleven objects of varied size, shape, and texture. Causal-based approaches to explain and learn from self-extension - A review

arXiv

arXiv:2610.33227v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: The last decades have seen a revolution in autonomous robotics. Deep learning approaches and their hardware implementations have made it possible to endow robots with extraordinary perceptual capabilities. In addition, they can also benefit from advances in Automated Planning, allowing them to autonomously solve complex tasks. However, on many occasions, the robot still acts without internalising and understanding the reasons behind a perception or an action, beyond an immediate response to a current state of the context. This gap results in limitations that affect its performance, reliability and trustworthiness. Deep learning alone cannot bridge this gap, because the reasons behind behaviour, when it emanates from a model in which the world is a black-box, are not accessible. What is really needed is an underlying architecture based on deeper reasoning. Among other issues, this architecture should enable the robot to generate explanatio
