XoNav: An Exoskeleton as a Personalized Haptic Interface for Assisted Navigation

arXiv

arXiv:2610.27271v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Walking without vision requires timely, unambiguous guidance, yet many wearable aids encode directions as audio or vibrotactile signals that users must translate into movement. We present XoNav, a four-actuator hip exoskeleton that renders guidance cues directly at the hip joints. It renders an Advance cue and two-level Braking cues through sagittal-plane actuators and two-level Steering cues through frontal-plane actuators. A bilateral LSTM-based gait-state classifier uses two thigh-mounted IMUs to identify gait states, enabling haptic cues to be delivered in coordination with the wearer's gait while suppressing them during standing. The classifier generalized to unseen users with recalls of 95.2-97.9%, with mean detection delays of 38.6 and 63.1 ms for stance-to-swing and swing-to-stance transitions, respectively. EmbodyHOI: Embodiment-Aware Generation of Hand-Object Interactions for Humanoid Dexterous Manipulation

arXiv

arXiv:2610.27242v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Humanoid dexterous manipulation needs reference motions that are both semantically rich and kinematically feasible for the target robot. Text-conditioned hand-object interaction (HOI) generators supply diverse, language-specified demonstrations, but they synthesize motion in human (MANO) space. The embodiment gap is therefore deferred to post-hoc retargeting, where trajectories deployed on the robot can fail to maintain contact with objects and also degrade policy learning. Our key idea is that robot reachability should constrain the interaction trajectories while they are being generated. We present EmbodyHOI, which runs a differentiable inverse-kinematics (IK) solver for a specific humanoid embodiment inside the sampling loop of a frozen flow-matching HOI trajectory generator. We feed back gradients from the embodiment-aware IK solver into the HOI sampler and jointly optimize the position of the humanoid with respect to the object. Beca

Which Depth Estimator for Jetson AGX Orin? A 2026 Benchmark of Monocular and Stereo Methods

arXiv

arXiv:2610.27199v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: The Jetson AGX Orin is a common computer for robots and vehicles, yet measured accuracy, speed and energy of current depth estimators on it are hard to find. We benchmark nine model families as of October 2026: the monocular Depth Anything V2 and 3, Depth Pro, MoGe-2, Metric3D v2 and UniDepth V2, and the stereo methods libSGM, NVIDIA ESS and Fast-FoundationStereo. Every method runs on the Orin as a TensorRT FP16 engine or native CUDA code at up to three input sizes, up to the full 5.7 MP, and is scored for metric accuracy against Middlebury 2014 ground truth (non-occluded pixels of the 10 scenes whose disparity stays below 256 px), GPU time, energy and licence. Stereo is far more accurate. At 30 fps, NVIDIA's ESS reaches 0.70% AbsRel in 8.6 ms and libSGM 0.73% in 25 ms; with more compute, Fast-FoundationStereo reaches 0.33%. The best monocular models reach 12% with the true focal length (Depth Anything 3 Metric-L in 33 ms, Depth Pro in 80

Learning to Be Different: Component Specialization for Compositional Diffusion Policies

arXiv

arXiv:2610.27194v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Diffusion policies with linearly composed scores have emerged as a promising approach to multitask robotic learning by combining separate factors to enable modular, task-wise adaptation, compositional generalization, and interpretable functional decomposition. However, current training objectives do not encourage factor specialization, often resulting in uninterpretable denoisers whose composed prediction is an average over identical copies, undermining their architectural premise. To address this, we propose a drop-in score-decorrelation auxiliary loss, motivated by projective composition theory. Our approach encourages specialization by penalizing overlap directly between component noise predictions, with little architectural change or computational overhead. We demonstrate across multiple benchmarks that our decorrelation loss consistently reduces measurable double-counting between components, improves task decomposition, and produces

Visual Task Modeling and Automated Planning for Humanoid Robots in Education of Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder

arXiv

arXiv:2610.27162v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: In robot-assisted education, a robot must understand how to complete a task in order to effectively guide a student through it. We present a novel method that enables a semi-autonomous, camera-equipped robot to recognise the task goal and plan actions to achieve it. Our work focuses on Shoebox Tasks, an activity commonly used in the education of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). These tasks are designed so that the goal can be inferred directly from their visual structure. We have developed a solver that uses a vision-based Large Language Model to convert photos of a Shoebox Task into a Planning Domain Definition Language (PDDL) representation and generate action plans for solving it. We have also implemented a robotic interface that enables a Nao robot to autonomously execute various Shoebox Tasks and assist a student by suggesting next steps or signalling detected failures through action demonstrations, voice commands, or

Towards Interaction State Recognition in Sensorized Gecko-Inspired Adhesive Interfaces for Orbital Servicing

arXiv

arXiv:2610.27141v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Reliable contact establishment remains a critical challenge for autonomous on-orbit servicing (OOS), particularly when interacting with non-cooperative targets. Gecko-inspired dry adhesives provide a lightweight, passive, and residue-free solution for robotic capture in space, yet current systems operate in open loop, without the ability to estimate their own contact or adhesion state during interaction. This paper presents a real-time interaction-awareness framework that enables sensorized gecko-inspired adhesive interfaces to estimate their contact state throughout the adhesion lifecycle using embedded capacitive sensing. Five discrete interaction states (idle, proximity, contact, engaged, and disengaged) are classified using experimentally collected and augmented sensor data, enabling a comparative evaluation of six lightweight machine learning models suitable for embedded deployment. Among the evaluated models, Random Forest achieved

ACE-Brain-0.6: Scaling Spatial Grounding for Physical Foundation Models

arXiv

arXiv:2610.27040v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: General-purpose multimodal models, including GPT-6 Astra and Claude Opus 5.5, demonstrate broad capabilities in embodied manipulation. Our analysis indicates that this generality is accompanied by strong spatial perception, as Astra can determine where to interact with task-relevant entities amid visual distractors. Because spatial perception connects high-level reasoning to the physical scene, we investigate scaling visual grounding to strengthen the perceptual foundation of general embodied operation. We develop a unified data pipeline that combines robot manipulation recordings with complementary visual data from diverse sources. After automatically annotating the robot recordings, the pipeline converts the collected data into verifiable grounding supervision. Fine-tuning Qwen3.5-9B on approximately 1.5 million samples produced by this pipeline yields ACE-Brain-0.6. The model outperforms GPT-6 Astra on four of seven public grounding be

Embodied Playground: A Long-Horizon Agentic Robotics Benchmark for Physical, Strategic, and Spatial Reasoning

arXiv

arXiv:2610.27039v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Foundation models offer a promising basis for robotic agents, but long-horizon tasks require them to sustain coherent reasoning and reliable physical execution across interdependent stages. We introduce Embodied Playground, a benchmark for evaluating how foundation-model agents coordinate physical, strategic, and spatial reasoning throughout such tasks. Agents must track task progress, satisfy intermediate constraints, and revise their plans using execution feedback as earlier actions shape subsequent decisions. The playground comprises 410 task environments spanning basic manipulation, sequential puzzles, and multi-stage household activities, with variations in planning depth, geometric constraints, and physical execution demands. We curate EP-100, a representative selection of 100 tasks across five suites and 16 task types, together with the EP-Easy and EP-Hard difficulty splits and the compact EP-20 selection. Replan for Error Recovery: Training Embodied VLMs through Verifiable Interaction with Action-Grouped Turn-GSPO

arXiv

arXiv:2610.27003v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Embodied VLMs can execute increasingly complex manipulation tasks, yet execution errors can leave the environment in states that require replanning for recovery. Existing recovery methods either rely on inference-time mechanisms with fixed policies or learn from failure examples and reference corrections rather than verified action outcomes. To enable recovery learning through verifiable interaction, we introduce the Embodied Replanning for Recovery Environment (ERR-Env), which provides feedback on task progress and execution errors. We further construct ERR-Bench, a benchmark with held-out tasks spanning nominal, intermediate, and error states for evaluating recovery capability and execution reliability. We then propose Action-Grouped Turn-GSPO (AGT-GSPO), an online reinforcement learning method combining turn-level rewards for task progress and error states with action-grouped advantage estimation, and use it to train ERR-VLM, a compact

EDITH: Teaching Robot to Follow Nonverbal Human Intent from Egocentric Vision and Gaze

arXiv

arXiv:2606.10276v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: For natural human-robot interaction, a robot must understand human intent expressed not only through language but also through nonverbal signals such as gestures and gaze. However, current robot policies rely on language instructions as the sole interface for conveying intent, leaving nonverbal signals unused and placing the full burden of communication. In this work, we present EDITH, a robot framework that captures the human's nonverbal signals through continuous streams of first-person view and gaze from smart glasses, and uses them alongside language instructions as inputs to the robot policy. Our hardware system streams the human's first-person view, gaze, and speech to the robot in real time, transcribing the speech into language instructions. To handle these rich but noisy signals, we design a hierarchical policy in which a high-level policy infers the human's intent and produces a sequence of subtasks, where each subtask is re

GRAIL: Generating Humanoid Loco-Manipulation from World Models

arXiv

arXiv:2606.05160v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Scaling humanoid loco-manipulation requires robot-compatible demonstrations across diverse objects, whole-body motions, and scene geometries, but teleoperation and motion capture are difficult to scale because each collection depends on physical setups, instrumented actors, and robot operation. We present GRAIL, a digital generation pipeline that remains fully virtual until deployment: it grounds video world models in 3D assets and simulator-ready scenes to synthesize interactions without rebuilding physical environments or teleoperating the robot. Rather than reconstructing unconstrained in-the-wild videos, GRAIL starts from fully specified 3D configurations in which object geometry, camera parameters, metric scale, environment depth, and a robot-proportioned character are known before video generation and reused during reconstruction. This privileged setup better conditions 4D recovery, allowing model-based object tracking, human mo

ELAN4D: Embodiment-Centric 4D Supervision for Vision-Language-Action Models via Plug-and-Play Adaptation

arXiv

arXiv:2605.30484v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models have shown promise for robotic manipulation, yet most existing policies operate reactively by directly regressing actions from current observations, without explicitly modeling future dynamics. This limits their ability to generalize under out-of-distribution perturbations. To address this issue, we propose ELAN4D, an embodiment-centric, 4D-aware training framework that enhances VLA policies with future robot keypoint tracks as predictive spatio-temporal supervision. Using only forward kinematics from proprioceptive states, we derive 3D displacement tracks of robot keypoints, such as joints and the end-effector, with negligible preprocess cost. These tracks provide metric and compact supervision without requiring external trackers or reconstruction. A plug-and-play auxiliary branch with a lightweight track decoder injects this 4D signal into the action expert while preserving the pretrained vision-l

VLA-Pro: Cross-Task Procedural Memory Transfer for Vision-Language-Action Models

arXiv

arXiv:2605.29562v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models have shown strong potential for general-purpose robotic manipulation, yet they still struggle to generalize to unseen tasks that necessitate transferring relevant experience across objects, scenes, and action patterns. This paper proposes VLA-Pro, a plug-and-play framework designed to enhance cross-task generalization by storing task-relevant procedural memories at training time and transferring these memories during inference. Specifically, VLA-Pro stores task-specific LoRA adapters as parameterized procedural memories during training. At inference time, VLA-Pro retrieves relevant procedural memories based on the current multi-modal context and dynamically fuses these memories for generating the current action chunk. Experiments on RoboTwin, RLBench, and real-world manipulation tasks show that VLA-Pro consistently improves cross-task generalization across multiple backbones, achieving up to a 207%

Mono-Hydra++: Real-Time Monocular Scene Graph Construction with Multi-Task Learning for 3D Indoor Mapping

arXiv

arXiv:2605.17661v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Autonomous agile robots need more than metric geometry: they must understand objects, rooms, places, and spatial relations for search, inspection, exploration, and human-robot interaction. Conventional metric maps support localization and collision avoidance, but do not provide this semantic and relational structure. 3D scene graphs address this gap by connecting geometry with object-level and room-level understanding. Building such representations on agile platforms remains difficult because aerial and lightweight robots operate under strict payload, power, and compute limits, making RGB-D cameras and LiDAR sensors impractical for many onboard settings. We present Mono-Hydra++, a real-time monocular RGB plus IMU pipeline for indoor metric-semantic mapping and hierarchical 3D scene graph construction. The system combines M2H-MX, a DINOv3-based multi-task model for depth and semantics, with a deep-feature visual-inertial odometry front

EVA: Aligning Video World Models with Executable Robot Actions via Inverse Dynamics Rewards

arXiv

arXiv:2603.17808v3 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Video generative models offer a promising basis for robotic planning by predicting future visual rollouts from observations and task instructions. However, their training objectives typically lack explicit constraints on robot executability. Generated rollouts can exhibit embodiment-related artifacts, including arm deformation and temporal discontinuities, while the actions decoded from these rollouts may be unstable or violate robot motion limits. We term this mismatch between generated robot behavior and embodiment-specific execution requirements the executability gap. We introduce Executable Video Alignment (EVA), a post-training framework that uses action-space feedback to improve both the visual integrity of generated robot motion and the feasibility of decoded actions. EVA trains an inverse dynamics model (IDM) on robot demonstrations and freezes it to decode actions from generated videos. We compute a reward from these actions
