World-Ego Modeling for Embodied Video Generation in Long-Horizon Navigation-Manipulation Tasks
arXiv:2605.19957v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Embodied video world models typically capture both scene evolution and the robot's behavior, which we refer to as the \emph{world} and the \emph{ego}, respectively. The world and the ego exhibit different underlying dynamics: world prediction relies primarily on visual history and emphasizes scene stability, whereas ego prediction relies more strongly on the current instruction and emphasizes accurate instruction following. Modeling both components within a single generation stream can entangle these different dependencies, making it difficult to specialize the prediction of either component. Consequently, it becomes difficult to simultaneously maintain scene consistency and accurate instruction following, particularly in long-horizon navigation-manipulation tasks. In this paper, we propose to decompose an embodied video into the world and the ego and disentangle their generation processes. Specifically, we define the world as t
PhysMoDPO: Physically-Plausible Humanoid Motion with Preference Optimization
arXiv:2603.13228v3 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Recent progress in text-conditioned human motion generation has been largely driven by diffusion models trained on large-scale human motion data. Building on this progress, recent methods attempt to transfer such models for character animation and real robot control by applying a Whole-Body Controller (WBC) that converts diffusion-generated motions into executable trajectories. While WBC trajectories become compliant with physics, they may expose substantial deviations from original motion. To address this issue, we here propose PhysMoDPO, a Direct Preference Optimization framework. Unlike prior work that relies on hand-crafted physics-aware heuristics such as foot-sliding penalties, we integrate WBC into our training pipeline and optimize diffusion model such that the output of WBC becomes compliant both with physics and original text instructions. To train PhysMoDPO we deploy physics-based and task-specific rewards and use the
Gaze Estimation for Human-Robot Interaction: Analysis Using the NICO Platform
arXiv:2509.24001v3 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: This paper evaluates the current gaze estimation methods within a human-robot interaction (HRI) context of a shared workspace scenario. We introduce a new, annotated dataset collected with the NICO robotic platform. We evaluate four state-of-the-art gaze estimation models. The evaluation shows that the angular errors are close to those reported on general-purpose benchmarks. However, when expressed in terms of distance in the shared workspace the best median error is 14.57~cm, quantifying the practical limitations of current methods. We conclude by discussing these limitations and offering recommendations on how to best integrate gaze estimation as a modality in HRI systems.
Simultaneous Computation with Multiple Prioritizations in Multi-Agent Motion Planning
arXiv:2501.10781v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Multi-agent path finding (MAPF) in large networks is computationally challenging. An approach for MAPF is prioritized planning (PP), in which agents plan sequentially according to their priority. Albeit a computationally efficient approach for MAPF, the solution quality strongly depends on the prioritization. Most prioritizations rely either on heuristics, which do not generalize well, or iterate to find adequate priorities, which costs computational effort. In this work, we show how agents can compute with multiple prioritizations simultaneously. Our approach is general as it does not rely on domain-specific knowledge. The context of this work is multi-agent motion planning (MAMP) with a receding horizon subject to computation time constraints. MAMP considers the system dynamics in more detail compared to MAPF. In numerical experiments on MAMP, we demonstrate that our approach achieves near-optimal prioritization and outperform
ImagiNav: Scalable Embodied Navigation via Generative Visual Prediction and Inverse Dynamics
arXiv:2603.13833v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Enabling robots to navigate open-world environments via natural language is critical for general-purpose autonomy. Yet, Vision-Language Navigation has relied on end-to-end policies trained on expensive, embodiment-specific robot data. While recent foundation models trained on vast simulation data show promise, the challenge of scaling and generalizing persists due to the limited scene diversity and visual fidelity in simulation. To address this gap, we propose ImagiNav, a novel hierarchical paradigm that formulates navigation in visual space. Instead of predicting waypoints, ImagiNav synthesizes a future egocentric video conditioned on language instructions, serving as a high-level plan, interpreted by an inverse dynamics model to extract metric trajectories for execution. By decoupling planning from robot actuation, the paradigm enables direct utilization of diverse in-the-wild navigation videos. To support this, we develop an auto-l
SPAN-Nav: Generalized Spatial Awareness for Versatile Embodied Navigation
arXiv:2603.09163v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Recent embodied navigation approaches leveraging Vision-Language Models (VLMs) demonstrate strong generalization in versatile Vision-Language Navigation (VLN). However, reliable path planning in complex environments remains challenging due to insufficient spatial awareness. In this work, we introduce SPAN-Nav, an end-to-end foundation model designed to infuse embodied navigation with universal 3D spatial awareness using RGB video streams. SPAN-Nav extracts spatial priors across diverse scenes through an occupancy prediction task on extensive indoor and outdoor environments. To mitigate the computational burden, we introduce a compact representation for spatial priors, finding that a single token is sufficient to encapsulate the coarse-grained cues essential for navigation tasks. Furthermore, inspired by the Chain-of-Thought (CoT) mechanism, SPAN-Nav utilizes this single spatial token to explicitly inject spatial cues into action reaso
Seed2Scale: A Self-Evolving Data Engine with Parallel Worlds Expansion for Scalable Robot Learning
arXiv:2603.08260v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Existing data generation methods for robot learning suffer from limited exploration, embodiment gaps, low signal-to-noise ratios, and domain shifts, leading to performance degradation during self-iteration and poor generalization to unseen scenes. To address these challenges, we propose Seed2Scale, a self-evolving data engine with parallel worlds expansion. Starting with as few as four seed demonstrations, Seed2Scale first executes a self-evolution stage driven by a heterogeneous synergy of "small-model collection, large-model evaluation, and target-model learning". Specifically, the lightweight Vision-Language-Action (VLA) model, SuperTiny, serves as a dedicated data collector for robust exploration. Concurrently, a pretrained Vision-Language Model (VLM) functions as a verifier to autonomously score and filter trajectories, supporting stable self-evolution in the evaluated tasks without performance collapse. Furthermore, Seed2Scale i
RoboAug: One Annotation to Hundreds of Scenes via Region-Contrastive Data Augmentation for Robotic Manipulation
arXiv:2602.14032v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Enhancing the generalization of robotic learning in diverse unseen environments remains a fundamental challenge. Existing approaches often rely on large-scale pretraining, which is labor-intensive and time-consuming, or semantic data augmentation methods that assume flawless upstream object detection in real-world scenarios. In this work, we propose RoboAug, a novel generative data augmentation framework that reduces reliance on large-scale pretraining and perfect visual recognition by requiring only a single image with bounding box annotations for dataset construction. Leveraging this minimal supervision, RoboAug employs pretrained generative models for precise semantic augmentation and introduces a plug-and-play region-contrastive loss to guide attention toward task-relevant regions, thereby enhancing generalization and task success rates. Extensive real-world experiments on UR-5e, AgileX, and Tian Gong 2.0 demonstrate that RoboAug
Census-Based Population Autonomy For Distributed Robotic Teaming
arXiv:2511.02147v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Collaborating teams of robots show promise due to their ability to complete missions more efficiently and with improved robustness, attributes that are particularly useful for systems operating in marine environments. A key issue is how to model, analyze, and design these multi-robot systems to realize the full benefits of collaboration, a challenging task since the domain of multi-robot autonomy encompasses both collective and individual behaviors. This paper introduces a layered model of multi-robot autonomy that uses the principle of census, or a weighted count of the inputs from neighbors, for collective decision-making about teaming, coupled with multi-objective behavior optimization for individual decision-making about actions. The census component is expressed as a nonlinear opinion dynamics model and the multi-objective behavior optimization is accomplished using interval programming. This model can be reduced to recover found
A Sliding-Window Filter for Online Continuous-Time Continuum Robot State Estimation
arXiv:2510.26623v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Stochastic state estimation methods for continuum robots (CRs) often struggle to balance accuracy and computational efficiency. While several recent works have explored sliding-window formulations for CRs, these methods are limited to simplified, discrete-time approximations and do not provide stochastic representations. In contrast, current stochastic filter methods must run at the speed of measurements, limiting their full potential. Recent works in continuous-time estimation techniques for CRs show a principled approach to addressing this runtime constraint, but are currently restricted to offline operation. In this work, we present a sliding-window filter (SWF) for continuous-time state estimation of CRs that improves upon the accuracy of a filter approach while enabling continuous-time methods to operate online, all while running at faster-than-real-time speeds. This represents the first stochastic SWF specifically designed for C
The Kinetics Observer: A Tightly Coupled Estimator for Legged Robots
arXiv:2406.13267v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: This paper presents the Kinetics Observer, a novel proprioceptive state estimator for legged robots designed to provide the feedback required for versatile locomotion and physical interaction with the environment, with enhanced robustness to contact slippage. Its core contribution is a tight coupling between whole-body kinematics and external wrenches through a contact dynamics model, enabling the consistent fusion of leg kinematics, IMU, and wrench sensor measurements for real-time joint estimation of centroidal kinematics, contact rest poses, contact wrenches, and disturbance wrenches. By exploiting contact wrench measurements as correction terms, the proposed observer increases sensing redundancy, which provides observability of contact slippage relative to the centroid frame and enhanced robustness to modeling and sensor errors. The approach is experimentally evaluated on two humanoid robots across three scenarios totaling thirtee
